The North Highlight Tour – Tour Itinerary

  • Port Louis is the colourful capital of Mauritius and the largest city on the island. It is also the financial hub of Mauritius. It is a bustling city with beautiful palm lined streets like Place d'Armes, some wonderful old French colonial buildings, beautiful old cathedrals and mosques and interesting history throughout the city.

The Caudan Waterfront is a must see with some great shopping and entertainment venues intermingled with world class hotels and restaurants. It overlooks the harbour.

The Crafters Market is a hive of activity with wonderful ambiance where you are sure to find a lot of souvenirs for the family back home.

A visit to the Central Market in Port Louis is a must. It's a colourful and fun place to visit. Here you will find many local made products, textiles, spices, fruits and more.

  • Odysseo Oceanarium is the biggest Oceanarium in the Indian Ocean. It opened in September 2021 and covers and area of 1.5ha with around 50 tanks containing two million liters of water and about 10,000 species of sea animals. These include sharks, rays and groupers which will be observed from below in an 18m long tunnel.

At Odysseo, you will immerse yourself in a fascinating new world and become one with the ocean. A place to discover fishes, corals and marine species you did not even know existed. The Indian Ocean shall reveal its secrets to you. A must!

  • L'Aventure du Sucre is located in the North West of Mauritius. Travelling through the museum, visitors learn about the deeply intertwined history of sugar and Mauritius. Once lusted after as much as gold, sugar has enjoyed an extraordinary existence, leaving a profound impression on the history and identity of Mauritius. The visit includes a guided visit and a free tasting of more than 30 products at le Village Boutik including 12 unrefined brown sugars, rums of the New Grove House, jams and honey

Be sure not to miss this great opportunity to enjoy the tastes and purchase unique-local made special sugars, and also the very famous local made Mauritian rum.

  • The Cap Malheureux church or Red Church is formally known as The Notre Dame Auxiliaries Church. It is located in the small fishing village of Cap Malheureux, which translates to "Unlucky Cape" due to all the shipwrecks off the coast. It is famous for it's red roof that stands out against the blue seas and the spectacular views all around. The small church was founded in 1938 and is dedicated to the Virgin Mary.

This is a must see when you are in Mauritius. The whole area is very interesting and the town was the first landing place for the British when they attacked the French in 1810.
